Wuppertal

We are the AG JLC Wuppertal! Currently, our local group has about 10 active members, including students, PhD students, and students in their practical training. We meet on the last Wednesday each month in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss ideas, plan events and eat pizza. :)
What does that mean in detail? Intending to represent the interests of local students, to understand their situation and to support them, we organize, for example, information evenings on topics such as the practical training, or entry into the profession. Here, we are often supported by former Wuppertal "Lemis" who are always happy to come back to their university and tell us about their experiences. We also aim to be a contact person for students from Wuppertal, both for problems and questions about their studies. But also the "lemis" of tomorrow should not miss out, so we welcome pupils for workshops from time to time.
If you have any questions, wishes, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Either via our mail address wuppertal@ag-jlc.de or in person during our meetings on the last Wednesday of every month in VW.11.001.
New members are always welcome to join us!
Since the beginning of 2019, the Chair of Food Chemistry in Wuppertal is fully staffed again with Professor Dr. Nils Helge Schebb and Professor Dr. Julia Bornhorst. The research is focused on the role of trace elements in health and disease (AK Bornhorst) and the biological activity of food ingredients and their health effects (AK Schebb).
In Wuppertal, 40 students are able to start their studies each year: 25 of them in the winter term and 15 in the summer term. The study program ends with the first state examination for food chemists. Further information about studying food chemistry at the University of Wuppertal can be found here.
